Dresden, Germany
Submit a paper to the world congress of optics and photonics. The 25th General Congress of the International Commission on Optics (ICO-25) and the 16th International Conference on Optics in the Life Sciences (OWLS-16) will take place from August 31 to September 4, 2020 at the TU Dresden, Dresden, Germany: www.ico25.org
After 30 years and continuing the success of the recent previous general congresses, it is our great honor to host the General Congress and General Assembly of ICO in our country again. The ICO, “the Place where the World of Optics and Photonics Meets”, is an affiliated commission of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP), and a scientific associate of the International Council of Science (ICS). Its objective is to contribute, on an international basis, to the progress and diffusion of knowledge in the fields of optics and photonics. The ICO has the missions to foster advanced laser science and technology and to promote the development of science and technology in developing countries. The ICO is an umbrella organization with more than 50 territorial committee members and seven international academic societies: OSA (The Optical Society), SPIE (The International Society for Optics and Photonics), EOS (European Optical Society), IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), OWLS (International Society on Optics Within Life Sciences), LAM (African Laser, Atomic and Molecular Physics Network), and RIAO (The Iberian American Network on Optics). The theme of the world congress is Progress of Society with Light, highlighting the importance of optics and photonics for the modern society. In 2020 we will celebrate the 60 years anniversary of the laser. 3 Nobel laureates, the winner of the Koerber European Science Prize and the winner of the Frederick Ives Medal/Quinn OSA-Prize will present plenary talks, see the attachment and the link https://ico25.org/_medien/_content/files/Second-Call-for-Papers.pdf
Please consider to submitting a two-pages summary (including a 35-words abstract) and forward the call-for-papers to interested colleagues. The deadline is January 31, 2020.
The International Commission for Optics, ICO, promotes global communication. The ICO was created in 1947 with the objective to contribute, on an international basis, to the progress and dissemination of the science of optics and photonics and their applications. Scientific societies are requested to send their logo, which can be included in the website as Technical Co-Sponsors - International Network of Optics and Photonics, see https://www.ico25.org/
