"Current Status and Progress in Research on Molecular Symmetry"

This Special Issue, “Current Status and Progress in Research on Molecular Symmetry”, invites the submission of scientific manuscripts exploring various aspects of symmetry in the structural organization and the chemical and physical properties of molecules. Contributions may include studies involving the use of computational tools to characterize their properties and elucidate their relationship with structure. We welcome symmetry studies that lead to the improvement and understanding of biomolecular structures and their interaction with drugs, opening new avenues in personalized medicine. Innovative approaches for predicting the electronic and optical properties of complex molecules, particularly those with implications in nanotechnology and catalysis, are also encouraged. Submissions addressing group theory and symmetry, as well as spectroscopic applications that allow modeling new functional materials with applications in biology and contemporary theoretical chemistry, are highly relevant. Furthermore, studies on chirality, liquid crystals, or supramolecular structures, especially those linked to symmetries/asymmetries, are invited, particularly if they contribute to the understanding of new materials with biomedical, bioinformatics, photonics applications. We also encourage submissions that explore applications in nanotechnology or pharmacology, as well as those presenting innovative experimental techniques for analyzing symmetry/asymmetry in molecules.
