The object of this call is to provide a grant for stay of a foreign researcher in the Photonic Research Group at Universitat Jaume I in Castellón. The purpose of this grant is to give support to research and development tasks, and it is addressed to people who have obtained a university degree by a non-Spanish university that allows the access to master studies in the scientific field of physics and more specifically in photonics.
Photonics plays a key role in many scientific and technological problems of XXI century ranging from technology productions or communications to biomedical or health aspects. By this reason, photonics has been promoted as a key-enabling technology by European Union. In particular we offer a position in the research field of BIOPHOTONICS and more specifically in the field of engineering optical devices for biological applications with digital holographic microscopy and femtosecond lasers. It is important, although not mandatory, introductory skills in physics and optics at the level of the university degre. Also, programming abilities in Matlab or Labview are welcome. Research tasks will be carried out to engineer a digital holographic microscope with computer control as well as its integration with the femtosecond laser facility of the research group.
The Photonic Research Group at Universitat Jaume I in Castelló is a young and active research team in the field of photonics with 6 permanent staff members and, currently, 3 postdoc, 3 doctorate students, and several master and undergraduate students.
The Fellowship:
• 2-year grant (may be extended for an additional year) or until the achievement of the doctoral degree;
• Gross salary per month: € 1.200, with his/her corresponding personal income tax withholding (plus an stipend of € 1600 for travel and setting during the first year)
• Where appropriate, academic stipend of € 1.200 per year to cover master studiesFacilitate innovation
